Best. Case. Ever. : Corsair CC600TWM-WHT Special Edition Graphite Series 600T Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case - White
This is my chronicle of the Corsair 600T extra White Edition as a first-time Pc builder. Note that this is my second case, my first being a Silverstone Raven 2 Rv02W-Ew little White Edition, which I ultimately decided to return for this case. I will be using the Silverstone case as a benchmark for the Corsair 600T. Since specifications for both can be found online, I will instead go over points that I found particularly valuable after construction inside both cases. The internal specifications are as follows and were selfsame for both computer cases:
Cpu: Intel Core i7 2600K (Sandy Bridge)
Motherboard: Msi P67A-Gd80
Psu: Corsair Hx750
Videocard: Evga 1567-Kr Nvidia Gtx 560 Ti
Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Hd
Cpu cooler: Corsair A70
Ssd: Mushkin Enhanced Callisto fancy 60Gb
Hard drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1Tb 7200Rpm
Optical drive: Samsung Sh-222Ab

Silverstone Raven 2 Rv02W-Ew little White Edition: $189.20

Component Installation
As a novice builder, ease of premise is paramount. The 5.25" visual drive bays in the Corsair 600T are tool-less and get adequate that added screws for protection are unnecessary. In comparison, the visual bays in the Silverstone Raven Rv02W-Ew are not as straightforward and want old-fashioned screws. The 3.5" hard drive trays in both the 600T and Raven 2 Rv02-Ew are removable, but while the ones in the Raven want 4 screws, the trays in the 600T have built-in pins to hold in a proper hard drive and thus only want 2 screws for safety. Due to the Raven 2's design, the power supply is top-mounted, but the builder must setup a protection strap and a small bracket to hold it up; Silverstone could have instead made the bracket adjustable on rails to ease setup.
Winner: Corsair 600T
Cooling
The Silverstone Raven 2 Rv02-Ew has 3x 180mm fans at the bottom of the case and a 120mm at the top of the case for a vertical cooling effect. The Corsair 600T extra White Edition has a 200mm fan at the front, a 200mm fan at the top, and a 120mm fan at the back; in addition, the side window can be swapped for a mesh panel capable of holding 4x 120mm fans. Without production any extra fan purchases, the Raven 2 had great cooling: mean videocard temperature at idle was low 30s C compared to the 600T's idle videocard temperature of ~35C. Cpu core temperatures were ~12C for the Raven 2 and ~17C for the 600T.
Winner: Raven 2 Rv02
Case Construction
Both the Raven 2 Rv02 and the 600T include plastic pieces in increasing the steel body. As would be predicted of the plastic areas, the construction and paint can only be so good to a point. However, the 0.8mm steel sides of the Silverstone case appear to be stiffer and therefore stronger than those of the Corsair case. The tool-less sides of the 600T are helpful, but the sides of the Raven are fairly easy to remove and thus the tool-less sides of the Corsair case are not so much of an advantage.
Winner: Raven 2 Rv02
Both cases are good buys; both have their strengths and weaknesses. Currently I am using the Corsair 600T case, and after having to setup an urgency backup drive, I can say that the ease of premise outweighs the benefits that the Silverstone case had. The cooling of the 600T may be a bit worse, but since this is the extra White Edition, fans can be added to remedy this flaw, putting it at the same price as the Raven 2, but again the 600T will be easier to work in for time to come upgrades.
